Uchee Trail Country Club is a Semi-Private, 18 hole golf course located in Cochran, Georgia.
Uchee Trail Country Club first opened for play in 1969. The course was designed by Herb Green.
The club was started in 1966 when a group of Bleckley County citizens interested in having a golf course and other recreational facilities began making plans. Several sites were inspected and after much debate, the present 110 acre tract of growing pines was purchased in 1967. Construction began in 1968 and the facilities were completed and the golf course opened in 1969. Uchee Trail is named after the "Uchee Indians", Native Americans indigenous to the area in the early 1700's.
Par for the course is 72. From the back tees the course plays to 6,920 yards. From the foward tees the course plays to 4,831 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 14, a par-5 that plays to 629 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 17, a par-3 that plays to 163 yards from the back tees.
Watch out for # 12, a 428 yard par-4 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole at Uchee Trail Country Club is # 3, a 310 yard par-4. The back nine is the more difficult nine as it is longer and has 6 of the top handicap holes. Both # 11 and 14, long par-5's, play tough requiring a precision 3rd shot to catch a birdie. The course is normally one of the better conditioned courses in the area.
